Although I can trace back to JOHN DOWD - father of Partrick, I have no confirmation (yet) on date of birth, so my story really begins with Patrick - although you can read the article regarding "Life On The Dowd Farm" found under 'Yesteryear' which will hopefully give you an insight into what kind of life our ancestors had to endure in the early-mid 1800's - leading up to the notorius Irish Potato Famine of 1845-52
