Hi Tony, Yvonne here, had a look at the new layout today and it's looking really good.
Yvonne, I'm glad you have the use of a PC now and again, (very kind of them - whoever it is, say thank you from me). Enjoyed my visit the other week, will do it again one day not too far away I hope. Keep popping back in from time to time to see the updates..... and maybe in about a months time, I'll put the family tree back on here so you can really see the work I've done on it. Keep up with the research for me - birth/wedding/death certificates etc. certificates, and if you think of anything worthwhile documenting, then get it down on paper. Lots of love......... Tony

Hi Tony, Good to see you again on Friday. How did your return visit to The Station pub go on Saturday? Did you track down the elusive Jane and her family tree book?? The lady who Vicky met in hospital who says she is my dads half brother lives near Vicky's mam. So I am going to see if I can visit her to find out more. I will let you know how I get on. Stuart, Didn't get the chance to get back to The Station pub.... by the time Yvonne and I had a couple of hours with MARIE DOWD (Vickers) in St Helen, and then half hour in the cemetery again, it was a bit late. After dropping Yvonne off back home, I went over to Staindrop to visit friends of my eldest son, but there was no-one at home, so I made my way back home. I am going to drop John and Doreen Dowd a few lines, apologising for not turning up, but will visit them on my next trip up there. In the meantime, if you are passing, then pop in and have another chat with John... did he say that his father was Thomas..?? This afternoon I have sent off for the marriage certificate of Patrick and Ellen Dowd (Great Grandparents), once I have that then I will be able to start delving back a bit further on his side. Yvonne and I had a great chat with Marie Dowd, such a nice lady, and she really made a fuss of us. She lives at 97 Manor Road, St Helen, if you're passing...!! Her father was William, elder brother of Harry. Great seeing you again, Pauline and I are already talking about another weekend up there....... she wants to spend a night in the Manor Hall Hotel - ghost hunting. Tony

Hi, It looks highly likely that I am a relative through the Tebb family. I will e mail you when at home as I am taking a break in middle of night at work. I have proved back to Henry Tebb and Mary Newcomb and probably have also thought the earlier generations as possible. My Grandmother Ivy was sister to Gertrude Tebb, who I remember visiting up to the 1970s. My parents are still alive and have been involved in family history research for nearly 40 years. Hi Tony, recently found a name and address in a copy of my gran's 1951diary and decided to put it in a search engine. She was Janet Flynn, nee Nicholson, from Middlesbrough. Name written was Miss E Dowd, 2 Leases Terrace, Gt Helens Auckland. The connection may be Nancy Nicholson although I was previously not aware of her. My grandmother died in 1952.
