Gladys Jennings

Third eldest daughter of Arthur & Mary Jennings, born 31st July 1925 at 7 Long Row, California Lane, in Barlborough, Derbyshire.

Married on 3rd August 1946 to Arthur Walters at Chesterfield registry office. Arthur originated from Sutton-in-Ashfield.

They had three children:

            Patricia        -        b.31st July 1948 in Banbury

            Michael        -        b.30th April 1950 in Banbury

            Irene            -        b. 16th June 1953 in Ollerton - married Justin Coe at Shireoaks 7/9/1974

When Arthur and Gladys got married they moved to Banbury for a couple of years before moving to Ollerton.

Mid 50's they moved to Creswell. My family moved with them at the same time, and we lived next door to each other on Duchess Street for a couple of years.

They then moved to Rhodesia, Worksop, when Arthur got a job at the local colliery.

Lived on Royds Crescent, then on Mary Street. Later in life they moved to Kingston Close, Manton, into a bungalow.

Arthur died some years ago, and Gladys - after a couple of years - moved back into Rhodesia. She now resides in an old peoples bungalow on Tylden Way.
